Andy, they keep moving the goal posts. I have to study this crap and write the exam before the end of the year.

@Kid: Now I know why lawyers charge so much money for consults. They have to read and study mindnumbingly boring stuff to pass their exams. I just have to study the FAIS act. It makes me fall asleep just thinking about reading that crud.

Then it might be a very good idea for you to ride with a helmet on your head.

Heaven forbid you take a lie down and all that information spills out.

You have a death wish or what ?

Or what. Nope, no death wish but hey, if it so happens, then it happens. It was the second time I rode without my hat in like 10 years or so. Just felt like the wind in my hair for a change and getting off the bike without "helmet hair". :)

I was more concerned with the fact that I didn't have a front light on the bike at the time. Which reminds me, time to get it back on the bike. Thanks for the reminder. I had quite forgotten. :P

recently read somewhere that riding a bike without a helmet is actually illegal.

maybe the legal eagles can confirm or bust this?

IMO there are better roads & times to ride without an helmet, racing up Prairie at peak hour traffic could end badly.

Besides weren't you on the way home? Then why you worried about your hair?

Is there something you wanna tell us ?

Trubes, yes it is apparently illegal to ride without a lid on. Thung is the law is not really enforceable. There are how many commuters (and I refer to the working class type commuters) who don't even have a lid. I rode past many Metro police yesterday and none of them even looked like they were even thinking of stopping me to ask me for my licence or why I was riding without a hat.

So they just ignore the issue.

Kid, I was doing anything but racing. Yeah, I was trying to get home before the rain, but racing is a realtive term. If I was going along at about 20 at that point, I was flying. It takes me 25 minutes to ride home. In the car it takes about 20 minutes without traffic and up to an hour with traffic.

Now what would I want to be telling you? Other than the divorce papers are at the courts. :(

Don't even ask how I feel about that right now. Let's just say profoundly disappointed, sad, angry and a whole heap of things. I think deep down, I was still hoping that we could somehow get it together, but that is not to be. Now, it's finally over and official. (Almost official) another two weeks or so and then it will be. :o

So I am going for another little emotional regroup and then I have some work to do. Chat later. Maybe.

Safe travels for those travelling. Please drive carefully and remember there are more hooglians on the road this weekend, so be extra vigilant.

If, like me, you are staying home, safe riding.

And above all, Happy and Blessed Easter everyone. Have a great long weekend.

When is Panorama my bud?

I have no doubt whatsoever that in your usual way, you will have done extremely good prep and will do well.

Edit: Ok I stopped being lazy for long enough to google it. 29 April to 02 may 2011.

Give it stick my mate. Hope your time reflects your preperation like it did for Argus.

Ok, so I hve been at the office for just about the enire weekend, tired of it now and off to have some down time with a cycle to Bryanston and then home again later. And yes, I do have my hat with me despite the fact that it will give me helmet hair and I don't particularly care for helmet hair today.

At least I have been offered the use of a shower to freshen up. :)

Later guys, have a lekker last rest day of the Easter long weekend. I have come through the first one I have been alone and I am unscathed. It get's better from here.

Later buds.

Its not a feature race for me, so just going for the experience and to have fun. Thanks for the wishes.

Whatever race or ride it is for you, I hope you enjoy it mate. I have read all the stage descriptions and it sounds like extremely goo prep for the DC. If you can do Panorama, DC will be a walk in the park.

Enjoy, drive safely and ride safely. Look forward to your updates as the race progresses.

It should breathe some new life into this thread.
