MTB seems to be this ever evolving 'force' within the cycling industry...and yet I was amazed to find out the other day that MTB is still on 9speed?! My understanding is you can roll over bigger things (rocks, roots), science holds that you can roll over anything that is lower than your axle, so greater wheel size means bigger obstacles can be rolled over. I was always of the opinion that your wheels had to be a certain size...but I guess they would not have introduced such a wheel if it was restricted. How long has the 29" been around now?
