Who went to the NF test day?I  think its great idea, manufacturers can show case their bikes and you can get to test ride them and chose the bike that suits you. Two thumbs up to all the guys that were there.

Got to ride 2x29" the Niner and Hifi

Worth the money. Did my normal ride then rode the 2 bikes, so could compare the 26" against the 29er.

Also saw a guy testing a singlespeed - great if you are testing these different options

it was a great idea and should be supported better next time.

I have been to the bike testing in vegas and it is VERY well supported.

popped around yesterday to check out the 24 hr setup and was not very impressed by the public turnout.

And the benefit of that on a MTB is? (I'm asking this coz I genuinely am curious!)

You get to bragg that your wheels are bigger than theirs !!!!LOL

Thats funny Racman...but surely the bikes look peculiar with such big wheels?

MTB seems to be this ever evolving 'force' within the cycling industry...and yet I was amazed to find out the other day that MTB is still on 9speed?!

Oh...I do eat humble pie regarding anything I have ever said with regards to Chris King...played with some hubs the other day, impressive.

?

My understanding is you can roll over bigger things (rocks, roots), science holds that you can roll over anything that is lower than your axle, so greater wheel size means bigger obstacles can be rolled over.

Hmmm. Makes sense. I was always of the opinion that your wheels had to be a certain size...but I guess they would not have introduced such a wheel if it was restricted.

How long has the 29" been around now?

Was a darn good event, think the support can only grow as people become accustomed to the whole concept.

Have to say I'm leaning more and more to a Commencal!

Entery level wise, the Schwinn 405 is unbeatable value for money!!!
