tell me about it - i was totally freaked out. and to make matters worse this dude didnt want to hear my troubles. he was yelling at me about littering. i was so upset i nearly started crying

Ahhh, you are assuming that because someone rides R group that they are new to cycling?  Fand has been riding for years and is proud of his recent upgrade. You could almost say he was boasting about it...  Alternatively he could be hard-core and just started in R group on a Whim (new bike brand just released on trial)....
