it's true - for Junior/U23's /Elite. The other categories are to be heldĀ in May. but i wonder who are hosting them. can you confirm Groot Lem

Latrinus is the right person to ask. But I think the UCI categories, jun, elite, u23, ladies few days after Argus in Oudtshoorn, Southern Cape.

Idea was to prevent a farce like this year with MTN and Neotel. Now they could have the pro conti riders here. And May sounds right for vets/schools.

Wonder if there's a Giro?

I thought that the juniors are having their road champs at the tour. Does that mean it has been changed or that the U23's and elites are going to be thereConfused

The weekend afterĀ Argus is the SA mtb champs, also in Southern Cape, so you can ride roadchamps, and 2 days later MTB. Or spectate.

Boland Tour, Giro, Argus, SA road, SA mtb, all in 2 weeks.

Yes you can join the other two spectators along the route.

Stupid venue for SA Champs in my book.

Agree on the venue sentiments. But George/knysna is great mtb country.

Tell your provinces to pitch for SA's otherwise it will be at places like this.

Its still better than flying around the country after different events. Now at least you can rent a car in Cape Town for 2 weeks

Lem,

Ā

Why not the have SA in the Winelands, Stellenbosch, Paarl or Mossel Bay?Ā We need to take these big races to the people, where a family can pack a picnic basket, find a nice spot and watch the riders come past on a lap course. Who besides the silly ostriches is going to watch the riders in Oudtshoorn ?

Ā

I remember when we use to do the Tour de Eden, the only time you saw people was when we finished theĀ stages.Ā Ā

There used to be quite a high level of interest in cycling in Oudtshoorn - the Southern Cape team at Eric v Enter school events, normally existed mostly of children from Oudtshoorn. Mossel Bay (competitive road -note) cycling is non existent, not sure about George. So IMO if the champs have to take place in a Southrn cape town, then in a way Oudtshoorn is a good choice. AND the roads are really great there - quiet, and lovely varied terrain.
