Where do tired old bikes go to die?

Having succumbed to the ravages of time and Sabie X, Epic, Sani2c, the old faithful is being put out to pasture and replaced with a new shiny model.

The question is now what to do with the old bike?  Seems daft to waste money repairing / replacing what's broken / worn-out, and doesn't make sense to hang on to it for parts as everything changes every year with each model.  Is there a bike scrap yard out there?

Yes, but we're talking full-suspension and hydraulic disk brakes, not your average development bike / give-away. Without repairs, it's unrideable.

If you don't want to donate it, and couldn't be bothered to repair it, put it on the Hub for sale, possibly as spares. It's bound to be worth something.

Yeah! Post it!

I can not be the only compulsive bike shopper here...

Maybe blind auction to spice up the new year?

I'll start with R200..

My bikes all have personalities, so I cannot sell or scrap them. So they stay with me in my study:

Sparky, Where you based? if close by, I'll even use my own petrol and drive to you and take her off your hands... I have a really old reno that could do with a bit of an upgrade, I am sure i could slap a few of my components on her frame and really learn to ride...

Please lemme know if that is cool?
