Dr. Seuss Posted January 14, 2009 Share -- LA Pick -- FWIW - that does not look like a 58 to me! more like a 54. (if you feel fine on the bike leave the spacers, or take them out one at a time if you really want to moving the stem down and putting the spacers you have taken out on the top before you cut the fork -- if you take them out all at once you are going to mess up your back for sure!) AndreZA Posted January 22, 2009 Share then it must be a Trek sizing thing. He is just a tad shorter then me and except for the frames top tube length, the rest is close to my 56cm.
Jason Posted January 22, 2009 Share Whats interesting, he rides a 58cm so I would of thought that the stem would be pretty short, say 80mm - 100mm but its a 120mm which is pretty long and looking at the pic epoh uploaded, Lance isn't hunching over that much, weird. I'm about 2cm shorter and on a 54 with a 100mm stem... There can't be that much difference in the setup... 58 and 120mm stem... for 2cm's? Weird... When is Lance registering on the Hub to answer these questions?
Mudsimus Posted January 22, 2009 Share All the previous trek bikes were measured c-t so a 58cm will measure 56cm c-c. All my bikes were always 56 c-c but a Trek I rode were a 58cm. Top tube lenght were the same as other 56cm bikes. The Felt I ride now is a 54c-c with a 56cm top tube.

Mudsimus Posted January 22, 2009 Share Wow...thats short...or you dont know how to use the measuring tape.. The TT lenght is almost always the same or very close to the bikes size. Except on frames that slope very much.

JPW# Posted January 22, 2009 Share I have a scott 58 and its twise the size of that bike! and im much taller and I don't even look that big on a bike.
keith Posted January 22, 2009 Share What interests me is the weight of his bike, not as light as I thought it would be! I imagined it to be like 6kgs. You see all these bikes in magazines boasting sub 6kgs, so I expected he would be riding one of them.
Mellow Posted January 22, 2009 Share ...lance has a very aerodynamic body postion, mybe the bike size and stem length to fit the position ?
