Spinnekop Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Mammie..... Hy rol so....... With the prize money you'll attract the pro teams.....IF it is CSA approved.The team competition is a good idea. BUT In this time, day and age it is all about $$$$$$ You want to get good attendance, right? Petrol 320km = R300. Toll fees R150. Sleep over = R400. The race should be pretty special to get a whole club or team to come spend their hard earned $$$ in the "deserted country" The Kremetart has a good recipe. Long stage race. Challenge. Cheap accommodation. Good race PR. Good advertising. If you want to do it 9 May....that is the weekend after Panorama........two weeks before SA's which is down in the Cape......not a good date to attract Gautengers..... I am going to the Panorama.......my $$$ will be limited because I will be going to SA's too......God willing. So I will not be ABLE to go to this race of yours..... Question......there is this HUGE gap after the 94.7.......The Capies fill it up very nicely with the Burger (I think) and the DC.......Personally I think a "200km" race in the bush veld will be VERY nice to do two weeks after the 94.7........ Get the B&B/Self catering guys together.....chat to them....standard fee of R300 or R400 per room for that weekend.....everyone charges the same.... Get the council involved.Local car dealers.The restaurants can do pasta evenings etc.Cheap entry fee for the first 2-3 years. Even invite 5 teams for free to get the race going.....Nagmaal jy verstaan....It can jack a small town like say.......Alldays or Naboomspruit....up quite nicely!! Just a few thoughts......
