Mavic r-sys wheels

Well, Mavic makes junk.

Some examples.

MA3 rims

Ksyrium rims.

Arses Wheels (recalled after catastrophic failures).

It is a stupid design that ignores 150 years of wisdom packed into today's spoked wheel design and Mavic is now paying big money in recalling Arses wheels and replacing them with free Aksiums.

When a new design like that comes along, you should always ask yourself this question: "What problem does it solve?"

If the answer is vague or sounds like BS, it probably is BS.

Stay away.

I'll ride any Mavic wheel anytime , I trust the company , wonder how badly those "flopped" wheels really were, my guess is their still better than the ave Shimano wheels out there who's hubs only lasts you until the first small pot hole comes along.

Perhaps you'd like to explain how a hub fails from riding through a pothole?

Those flopped wheels were very badly. Search here for pictures of people falling on their arses from riding Mavic Arses wheels. Search for posts on Ksyrium rims, search for problems relating to Shimano hubs. Tell us what you find.

Don't be such a sucker for marketing hype. Make informed decisions.

My two cents' date=' Mavic doesn't make junk. [/quote']

Yes they do. From my own experience.

1 x Cracked Ksyrium sl rim.

1 x Crossmax XL rear hub that gave problems from the start.

1 x Brand new Crossride...Cracked rear hub axle.

A friend of mine is on his 3rd crossride wheelset. All the wheels cracked within a year.

Is the Mavic R-Sys wheelset a good wheelset to purchase and why ?

Recall on these right...

Should tell you something...

Get some Tune hubs and ask Johan B to build you a wheelset

Only problem is they're blerrie heavy.  But i'll take reliability over weight anyday.

My 2c worth....

If you want the looks go for Mavic. If you want performance at a fair price go Easton (or get JB to build you a set!).

Right...you'll get some funny looks when you're lying flat on you face after you're  wheel collapsed.
