Who sponsors these guys so that I can know whose product to boycott.

If you really insist and you want to do this I suggest you be careful of shiny taps.  Harley Davidson bikes to be avoided as well.

Cool, Harley Davidson bikes should anyway be avoided at all cost!Evil%20Smile

Why sponsor riders? Obviously it should be to promote your product and values.Shocked <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I have not read a review of a XC race bike that included how stable platform it is to shoulder/elbow/switch/block an opponent.Wink  I will also not make my decision of buying a MTB on the fact that so and so won the World Cup/ ?Fill in name? race on it or how well ?Fill in name? pro was able to shoulder/elbow/switch/block a competitor while riding the model bike. Big%20smile

I really don?t see the value of sponsoring riders.  Sponsor races, yes but not riders.  The majority people don?t care what happens up front or who from which team is riding. Evil%20Smile

Bro....are you for real??? without riders there wont be races. And If someone doesnt want to win it, no one would watch, so no sponsors will get any airtime, etc, so theres no reason for guys to build better bikes...its called mediocracy... and without competition we would still be in the dark ages.

I can't see KE's blog on the matter - was that removed too?

would like to hear his side of the story.

There was no blog on the matter, that's the point - he left it there on the field in Barberton...

couldn't that be because he's a little lackadaisical when it comes to keeping it updated? "To Mike and Kyle, my avid supporters, will try keep postings more frequent.. "LOL

Big%20smile Sorry to burst your bubble, but racing will go on without Pro?s and the other 99% of the riders (Those despicable funridersEmbarrassed) is what makes it worth while for the organizers to hold a race.  <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I think if you ask an organizer if he prefers a televised race with 50 pro riders or a fun ride with 20 000 participants they will choose the fun ride every time.  Why do you think CSA wanted to get on the fun ride band wagon? Shocked

Do you really think the Epic/Sani to See/Karoo to coast/Barbarton/SabieX are organized to get TV coverage and that they fill up in hours due to some Pro is riding the race? Think again.Shocked

As for bicycle development you will find that lots of stuff improves with out there being any racing involved. LOL

On the contrary, if it was not for racing (International Cycling Federation) we would not be riding an ancient 100 year old diamond design.  The current design (Then safety bicycle) is older than "heavier than air" flight (planes)Dead.  Go google recumbent history if you have some time available.

What to say about this argument?:

So a rider asks himself..............what shoes are good.....?  What darks to put on....what lid....what bike....

Does he:

Have a look through the mags and books at what title sponsors there are at races?

Does he have a look at what Lance wears and rides (Cosmids etc.)
