I have posted pics of our Nike track spikes we made into cycling shoes and some of you have even seen me wearing them on the road.

Here is the latest version of our ideas, we took puma soccer boot this time...full carbon sole..

234g incl cleats and base plates...lacing system will change and will polish it up and make it look pretty as soon as i am happy with the feel..

The idea is to have a LESS support and more flexibility so that there

is more muscle activation creating long term intrinsic support (the

same concept behind "FREE" and after all we are creatures of adaption).

The cleat as close to the met-heads you can get (the midsole has been

stripped away and this is a spike - not a running shoe - so there is no

loss of power). I question whether a rigid outsole in fact creates and

causes a loss in power by reducing and limiting range of motion of the

intrinsic foot structure and mechanism. In fact I have done testing on

my TACX iMagic and the results show better average power values which I

conclude are from increased ROM(Range Of Motion). As far as comfort is

concerned; combined with an ortholite insole this shoe is the most

comfortable shoe I have ever worn.

You also need to know that these are not just prototypes or models - these are shoes I use to suit my training and racing.

The shoe is by far the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn

Ideally

the Power Transfer Web should be carbon fiber (and therefore much

stiffer) to facilitate more direct transferance of power THROUGH the

met-heads ()and via the windless effect) WHERE YOU NEED IT.

Does this mean you can eventually have a triathlon shoe that you can cycle and run in? Something like an mtb shoe where the cleat is recessed or different mechanism where the cleat comes off.

Yes, we are looking towards that..Plus its like 200g lighter per shoe of rotational weight which is huge...

Not a road shoes, not for sprints and pulling up and climbing and attacking etc...

Just for TT position at threshold HR

i tell you what, every now and then I do a race that even me have to do walkingBig%20smile  like the rockpedal classic. then I dream of some vellies conversion!

Youre crazy Pornstar, but I like you man!

I tried to do this with old cricket shoes at school, but the soles were just rubber, so I clipped in and all went OK until I wanted to clip out. the bolts just ripped the shoe appart as the cleat turned in the sole, so I didnt clip out.....Vloer moer!Clap
