Arrogant c*nts don't change, whatever their mode of transport. Its still doesn't make sense to advocate killing them with your car, as has been mooted both on Car's website, and, shockingly, on this thread. And very quicly we find common ground. Trucks and other heavy duty vehicles take up the road due to their size,- they have no other alternative - thats it, finished, theres no argument.! As I said in another post - look after your own safety, if the bunch you are in is acting in a way which is endangering your safety, - stop riding with them.! I like to think they are the minority, but they make life difficult for the rest of us. However, I have nothing by sympathy for decent cyclists who get injured/killed by pig drivers who deserve themselves to be removed... Always two sides... [/quote] I don't condone cyclists abusing the road and riding in an illegal manner. But I do think that for a motorist, when confronted with this situation to "pass" the cyclist in such a way that the cyclist is injured is tantamount to murder (attempted or otherwise). To suggest that motorists have can't be expected to wait till it is safe to pass the cyclists, is ludicrous. That's an arrogant, superior attitude, which shows quite plainly the disregard for morals that is endemic in this country. [/quote'] I agree we are our own worst enemies and that gos for runners and cyclists as I partake in both. The 5 abreast scenario was more to show the differance between drivers sitting behind a truck or a bunch of cyclists Daniel, you may be right on the statistics, but riding 5 abreast as I was alluding to is still wrong. From what I read on the car site, there are heavy road works on the road which causes congestion, congestion causes aggrevation, and that causes accidents - sad as it is, this was an accident, it was not murder as some like to dramatise. We can ask, "Should he have been there just because he had a right to"?? I have a right to walk in Hillbrow with a cell phone and a pocketfull of money at 2am,..........but should I?? The answer is of course NO.
