If a cyclist skip a stop street, red robot or something similar and an accident occurs then obviously like any vehicle not obeying  the rules of the road then that cyclists is at fault. But if the other party can prevent the accident and they do not then they are fully responsible - and hopefully culpable homicide will be the charges laid. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

In most of the fatal cases - cyclists are hit from behind riding single file during daytime. If the vehicle driver kept to the speed limit and overtook when it was safe then these incidents would not have happened.

Wake up people - you are responsible when driving or riding (you bicycle). If you cause the death/injury of another person may you be punished to full extend of the law.

Anytime. I'll loan you a bicycle, and I'll drive over/through/on him the way he advocates.

I'm at Fireman's tonight? You're free to somehow come prove to me that riding 5-abreast on Ou Kaapse Weg is somehow legal, or even just remotely OK or considerate.

And this kind of attitude, mate, is the kind of attitude that WILL make bikers/drivers take you out.

But I suppose your lycra is all the protection you need against a 2-ton car or 200kg superbike. http://www.cartoday.com/cgi-bin/rolleyes.gif

Cute, tell him I'm a biker too. When I see him in his car, he gonna get an MX boot through the door, and if I see him on his bike, I'm aiming at the footpegs...

This from "the Mighty Dictator" on the formum of the brainless.

Wow. I?ve read a bit of that thread. Some of these idiots actually think it?s ok to ride 2,3,4,5 abreast so they can chat. **** the other road users. That?s a good attitude to have. Imagine if all motorists thought it was ok to drive next to each other on roads with windows down to chat to each other. You are either ****ing training or you are socialising. If you need to chat go to the pub or wherever the **** this species of human congregates.

Edit: Listen **** for brains, you have NO RIGHT to ride 5 abreast. It is against the rules. It has nothing to do with being polite or courteous. It is against the bloody rules so don't get your lycra panties in a knot when people hoot at you to move over.

Edit2: So the more I read the more it becomes clear. It is ok and not arrogant to ride 2-5 abreast or whatever and not move out of the way. But it is arrogant to hoot politely so that the cyclists move out of the way into a single file. Wow, that is some great mentality. The mind boggles. I can't even begin to try and have a civil discussion with people that think like that. I hope those particular riders die as soon as possible because they are a waste of oxygen.

So how exactly does one get through to someone who can't make a point without expletives? If it's language is so impaired, you can only imagine that Darwin has been at work or the carbon monoxide fumes have rendered him somewhat brain dead in which case, you cannot have an itelligent debate.

Like I said, battle of wits with unarmed ijits.

So perhaps we have to adopt the same attitude and wipe them out. Only thing is, and I guess it's just too stooopid to realise this, when you fight fire with fire, you both get burned.

Waste of time and intelect dudes.

It is however, as they suggest, very "inciteful to violins".

Only thing someone like that will understand is 95 grains of lead.
