chris414 Posted February 14, 2007 Share how accurate do you find the argus split time calculator on their website? do you find you go faster/slower on the hills than the estimated times?
PokerFace Posted February 14, 2007 Share Haven't used it, but a friend of mine did...(sounds like the start of an urban legend, doesn't it), and it is not 100% accurate. I suppose it depends on where your strength lies, hills or flats.
splat Posted February 14, 2007 Share I think its based on average speed and doesn't take your weight, power, wind etc into account. Quite generic. I know someone a while ago tried to generate more accurate calculators based on previous ride times, wind speed & direction and your weight etc. Not available any more. MichH Posted February 14, 2007 Share All I know is that I was aiming for a specific time and the further I got from the split calculator, the more depressed I got!
Buff Posted February 14, 2007 Share Yep, it's not accurate as it's based on averages. What I do know from experience is that if you plan on riding a Sub3 you need to be at the bottom of Smitswinkel at least 8mins ahead of that projected time to compensate for Chappies & Suikerbossie.
