Fixies were cool in the 80's when the movie Quicksilver came out. Those guys were hardcore bike messengers.

 

Now that they have become commercialized just buying a fixie implies coolness. Its just not right i tell you.

My new SS MTB is finished. Will start using it for commuting once the Doc gives the go ahead for me to start cycling again.

Looks like a really nice setup for a commuter bike. Way too nice!!!!

Not one of the bikes ive seen were bought as a fixie, and like I said in a previos post, thay need some schuff marks to be a proper fixie...

but surely there's nothing wrong in buying something like a madison or a bowery and customising it? would agree that getting something retro and building it up is way cooler.

I guess, i think i'm just becoming an old fart. I would like to find the new bikes appealing, but i just don't. I do however like a classic track bike in its original form.

am getting that way toosmiley36.gifi do, however, like some of the retro paint jobs and colour schemes new bikes are coming out with, but i guess it could be argued that that is just cosmetic.
