I've just fitted some Ragley Bars purchased from Singlespeed on my Peace. Will test them out tomorrow night at the Night Race.

I was planning on taking pics of the Inbred at the top of Majik Forest on Sunday, but after we came to the top we belted down again and I had so much fun coming down the pic idea was completely forgotten.

Pic of two SS bikes

This mornings ride into work with "Nobody" turned out to be more of a scenic affair with a detour through the V&A and along the beach front and a cup of coffee with a view of note ... the pic quality does not do the morning justice.

Regards

H

Big thumbs up to this... Can only imagine that cruising the promenade on a SS must be pretty sweet...

Hillbilly

Well done dude, you have beeeeeg balls, that ride in the cold all on a singlespeed as well.

Congrats.

I know the problem you are referring to with that tensioner, even if it pushes up againts the chain.

Now get rid of that tensioner and replace with this :

Hey,

I am just about to start a SS conversion on my '05 Diamondback Apeks. I started stripping it, but then realised I wanted a "before" photo. Here's the before photo.

I have purchased the following parts:

Gusset Bachelor chain tensioner

Gusset ER-1 cog and spacer kit

Avid FR-5 brake levers

Gold short chainring bolts

Blackspire 38T chainring

SRAM powerchain single speed chain

Schwalbe semislick tyres

I am going to do the conversion this weekend and I'll post the after pics when I'm done, maybe with a few intermediate pics too.

Future plans:

New wheels with a front disc brake / radial lace the front / single speed hub the back cross-3

Soda blast and clearcoat the bare ally frame

Soda blast and clearcoat the stem and bars

Add flat pedals

Possible refinish the cranks in bare metal or white

Anyone have any advice or comments?
