hahahahaha iv found a solution to this, swop my UST tyres to the karma SWS, saves over 450grams!

Can save 60 grams if i get a tune speedneedle saddle.

can save another 350grams if i get that spinner fork.

Thats 860grams. Im getting a program to build this frame under 9kgs from somebody who know what they are doing and they do it well. I know i can save a KG quite easily now

Wehn iv paid enough for the new frame there is no way i will ever strip the paint. Forget that idea.

Fork - about 50~80g I think if you switch to RS Sid Race or more if you switch to DT XRC100 about 120g but big $$

Wheels - DT hubs are heavy and 355 not the lightest. If you switch to A2Z or AM Classic hubs with ZTR 347 Olympic ( the are about 330g a rim ) - can save around 120~200g on the wheels alone. Hubs around 70g, rims between 60 and 100g.

Tubeless/Sealant - assume you are using the rim tape method, it saves 40~60g over the rim strip method .... Sealant - less ml = less g...

Tyres - if UST versions ----- you can save at least 250g just by switching to std folding bead versions ....

Shot MTB kid, we think on the same levels.

A new fork is huge $$$

A2Z hubs aint cheap either and neither are the rims. But if i can then i will.

I am using tape not strip and im definatly going to be dropping those UST tyres for some normal 1s.

Just swap out the UST tyres for the regular folding bead version.  You can run these with rim strips no problem, and you'll save 100g per tyre.

I had a similar problem?needed to lose 500grams for me to weigh under 100kgs. So I went for a circumcision? LOL<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

bike weight loss, a noble cause.

from your current parts spec it is goingto be easy or difficult.

Tyres would be the first place to lose weight. Fit Hutchinson Python Tubeless ready. They're around 500gr per tyre and about 200 per tyre lighter than the  Karma's you currently have fitted.

I would suggest the crank is another place to loose some weight but lighter is going to cost you around R2k for the Aerozine thingy.

You could lose another 40gr off teh cassette byt fitting an XTR cassette. The SRAM is not light at all. The XTR is around R2500 these days.

Best bang for your buck is the tyres.
