From checking out CRC and the Rockshox website their seems to be a few 'Reba' shocks avaliable. Anyone have any knowledge as to which one to go for (ranking as to what is best)? Anyone know where I could get one for a decent price? Thanks!

The Reba and Sid are Rox' two top-end Cross Country forks.

The Reba comes in Team, Race and SL in descending order of greatness.

They all have travel between 85 and 115mm all have Motion Control Damping  and weigh within a few grams, the same.

They are all air-sprung models but the Team has a U-Turn thingy that lets you adjust the travel by up to 45mm and it then automatically adjusts the spring rate. The SL's floodgate works a little differently. The Team model has a different crown forging that saves....wait for it.....27 grams.

Thje difference, the Team has a lighter crown and external floodgate. The Race an external floodgate but heavy crown and the SL, an internal floodgate and heavy crown.

Hi Johan

And the worldcup reba compared to the SID?

I haven't come across a World Cup Reba yet.

I know the SID is Rox' top-end cross country fork and that comes in a World Cup version and a Race and Team version. The World Cup version has some titanium and carbon bits and pieces.

The Sid's have fixed 80mm travel and thinner stanchions to save weight.

I have a Reeba World Cup, seems like a pretty good fork.

I don't really know anything about it or how to set it.

I can't fit the Lockout lever on my bars, no more space, so I don't use it, can't say I really miss it.

The Sid's are at 80 OR 100mm of travel, get with the times. The stanchions are also at 32mm, exactly the same as the Reba's, so I don?t know what makes them thinner, unless you are speaking old spec (Bob Dylan-The times they are a changing)

The Reba World Cup has been discontinued. Have you actually ridden any of these forks?

Now how did I know you would be buzzing around my neck?

No, I havent ridden a SID. That makes me a what?

Up to 2008 models they were 28 mm and 80mm of travel. If the 2009 models have been upgraded to 100 mm travel (probably 80mm out the box and 100mm modified) with 32mm stanchions, then thanks for the update. I am not in the habit of continuously buying the latest and greatest.

All the SID's that come to me for service have been 28mms, hence the double stock requirement of 28 and 32mm seals. I think we'll be stuck with  28mm stanchions for a very long time.

I buzzed because I CAN, and I will keep on buzzing.

The SIDS come in a 80mm or 100mm option, no need for modification.

I also don't buy the latest and greatest, but as a technical guru, you should know all things, not so ?

If you want to give advice then get the facts right, isn't that what you always say ?
