Welcome to The Stray Dog.org

It is going to be an Incredible Journey.

Cyclist Ron Joubert will be taking to his bike to complete a round trip of South Africa in order to raise funds for animal welfare. The trip starts on Saturday 25th April 2009 from the Kloof SPCA. Ron will be accompanied by a group of cyclists on the first leg of his odyssey, but from then onwards he will be on his own.

The journey goes through KZN to the Free State, then down to the Eastern Cape, along with coast to Cape Town, and then a roundabout route back to KZN. The entire project will take 28 days. Please click here to view his route and his schedule.

Why is Ron doing this?

"I have a passion for the environment ? its fauna and flora," says Ron. "I also enjoy cycling. Therefore I would like to combine my one passion ? cycling ? with my other passion ? supporting animal welfare.

I support the SPCA and the work they do and therefore have decided to donate any funds raised by this trip to the SPCA."

That's a helluva tour HR, would be a good idea for some clubs to show him support along the way. Instead of a club ride they could accompany him for a few km as a shoe support. Yeah?

Danger Dassie = nice that someone actually appreciates what this man is doing!  Brilliant idea re the club's accompanying him. The KZN hubbers can at least make the effort, the few I know will be more than happy to I am sure.

Will keep you posted.

and to those that have nothing valuable to add - meet the man and see if you can even remotely stand in his shadow.... then decide whether you should be so unbelievably disrespectful.
