For the Scampy lovers...

I might upgrade to Athena 11 speed in 20 years time. My current Athena group is only 18 years old so no point in upgrading now:

Mampara is right about the replacement parts thing. I'm a Scampy lover' date=' but some of the prices quoted by J&J are just crazy.

Like R600 for 4 replacement spokes for my electrons. And you can only buy a set of four. R250 for an ergolever clamp which shouldn't cost more than R15. R350 for a BB tool with no handle; local equivalent is R25. It's just gouging, and it is not good for customer loyalty.

I'm fairly certain now that my next groupset will be Dura Ace. The shape of the levers is very similar to Campy now. [/quote']

Don't be too hasty....MTB I know, but before the Epic I bought 6 spokes for my new XT wheelset, just in case I need it.

My LBS (& Coolheat) charged me a cool R500.  I nearly ripped the LBS guy's head off!!

That is why CWC will get my business from now on.

Great price and even though it is a "grey import" according to the local thieves importers.

Never ever will I buy something from J&J.  They make Campy so expensive, it is nearly not affordable.

And checking here you see CWC having specials all the time.  You will not see J&J doing that, they need to finance their lavish lifestyles.  Never mind who they screw in the processAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

I've seen the Queens ads where they say they are also official distributors of Campag. How does their prices compare to J&J's?

Me thinks para is a closet campy fan

How do you think I know all this stuff. smiley2.gif

Seriously' date=' I think I would have stuck with campy, yes I did use it at one stage, if it was not for the price and availablity of stock. And how can you be a true follower if you brand does not cater for all your needs. They do not make MTB parts. So how can you be "campy is the best and all else is crap" if you sit with Shimano or Sram on your MTB.[/quote']

their flat bar stuff is kinda cool though.

I'm sure the FB stuff is vaporware, have only ever seen official Campy pictures. Would love a set of Chorus FB shifters.

i'll enquire at the shop this morning. sure the price'll put me off.
