Calling PE Cyclists!

im not in pe but i hear marine drive gets busier by the day.

the road is not designed to carry that amount of traffic. the only safe parts seem to be whee the speed bumps are.

but pe must get 10/10 for trying, well done!

Kori thats why most of my mates are turning to their MTB's less traffic out in the bush.

I have just received a letter from the Eastern Cape Provincial Government - Dept of Roads & Transport and they have approved our application to erect 51 signs along the EP Herald race route at THEIR COST!! Yes they are paying for all 51 signs!! YIIPPPEEEEE!!!!!

 

 

 

The signs will be erected within the next 3 weeks so look out for them!!

Will these signs only be erected on Marine drive or where can I view where they will be placed.

This is great news and I hope it helps.

What concerns me is I see a lot of road signs saying 60km/h and 80 km/h but yet how many motorists actually travel at that recommended speed at that given time. Same goes for stop signs and robots, how often have you seen a motorist speed thru without stopping. It's just another sign.

 

I sincerely hope these signs warning motorists of cyclists helps to keep us  a little safer on the road, but at the end of the day it's the individual behind the wheel who controls the vehicle and not a little triangle with a picture of a bicycle. We still need to be very alert on the road no matter what signs are posted out there.
