They use cartridge bearings that are expensive and short-lived. Get Shimano XT hubs for a fraction of the price, with low service cost and better reliability. CK make its name quoting some incredibly silly engineering tolerances that mean nothing. He agrees that hubs and racing wheels make a huge difference, but he claims that you can only use them on race day and hence his argument that they are a waste of money... Anyone agree...? I, for one, am in it for the looks and THEN for the function.....hence either Sun Ringles or Hopes...CK is tooo expensive...I'm not interested to brag to friends that my Chris King hubs have outlasted 1000000 spokes, 10 rims, 7 bikes and 3 dogs and etc....[add you list here]...
