Hi guys, I was wondering if you can help me with this.

I'm driving my bike almost everyday so I figure out why not kepping records of my routs.

I heard there are some GPS devices, but I would not like to spend money on that since i'm not profesional, so do you know if there are any good GPS applications for mobile phones that I can use it.

Kreativ I also have an Iphone and as far as I know there are no app available for GPS. Iphones can only view googlemaps.

You would have to either get a Nokia or Garmin (or something similar).

best is to get a garmin edge 205 or 305 (with heart monitor) and download sport tracks from www.zonefivesoftware.com

this will allow you to keep a log for each bicycle (and running if you get the forerunner 305) and plot the routes on google earth and a whole lot more as well.

Guys I found the solution Smile,  just found out about this application, looks very promising.

Works on every type of mobile phone that has a GPS, i have an Xperia X1 and works

perfect. Very clean design. It is very simple for installing,

registering and using, one button press for every functionality. Except

main stats screen where time, distance, speed, average speed and

calories burned there is another screen with actual track. It's free

and the web site www.sportypal.com is very functional. Has anybody else already use it? http://forum.gsmhosting.com/ubb/eek.gif

Been trying out run.gps on my HTC TyTnII - it's very cool!

http://www.rungps.net/wiki/HomeEN

You can download free street maps for it from openstreetmap.org through the program, and have real-time internet tracking via gprs.

And you can upload your training to a few sites - I use

http://www.gps-sport.net/ (and you can view your training routes on googlemaps and see other people's training routes)

Some of my uploaded runs playing around with run.GPS:

Wrong hyperlink! This one works...

I use sportstracker its very cool.

Its also nice to be able to upload your current exercise route on the GPS, it stops my wife from phoning me to see how long I will take to get home cos she can see on the sportstracker website.

I just tried out the sportypal, it looks very nice, clean screen with the speed, distance and on the end thtough google maps i can see where i went. The thing is that as i can see the application is not there yet for iphone, but i tried on xperia X1 and it was working. The web service works also, you can view the whole track with detailed anylizes. Very impresive Clap

  • 2 weeks later...

http://sportypal.com/Workouts/Details/6556

is my ride from the last weekend, this thing works pretty well, you can also see the accuracy is good, there is no big difference between the real road and the mapping.

Other then that the trip was amaizing for me, nice nature all around me, waterfalls on every corner, long ride but it was worthed every single piece of it.

It seems everytime my phone gets a software upgrade sportstracker stops working.

I have just installed it again now along with sportypal so i will test them both and see which one is better.

Snapshot from my ride done with sportypal. So you can have a look at it to see what it has to offer. This picture is after uploading the workout to their website.

I have downloaded Motion X which looks like a great GPS for the Iphone. Havent used it properly on a ride yet as I am sorted with a Suunto and GPSpod and always know where I am going which is not very far.

You got a photo of that bike mount for the iPhone?
