Comparing it to the other fun ride in CT, the route vibe and scenery is not quite like the Argus, but you dont need a map to find your start group and the entertainment at the finish area is better.

I did not do the 94,7 last year.

The map on the cycle challenge website is not very clear and not much better when printed.

Is the course going to be the same as last year?...except for the finish

The only thing that puts me off the 94.7 is the parking and the crowds. The race is great. I love riding on the highway and always dawdle along at the start just looking around. The first pull after Killarney bends is terrific. all those roads we usually only see in our cars stuck in the traffic and for that days they are OURS!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I was beginning to wonder if there was anything good out there on the 94.7.

I cannot speak for the others, but for me the 94.7 is my favorite race.  People talk about the Argus, but I feel that the 94.7 is a safer race.

The roads on the Argus at times are a bit dangerous and with the crowd attendence they do become narrow at some sections.  On the other side the atmosphere at the Argus is second to none.  People in Gauteng rather tend live in shopping centres instead of supporting these great activities.

In summary.....ENTER, RIDE HARD and ENJOY IT.

The 94.7 was the first race I did. I bought a bike and entered on a whim with all of 6 hours of riding behind me. I started in TT at 9:00 or so and thoroughly enjoyed it and I can say, without a doubt, that it is what encouraged me to get fully into cycling.

This year will be my fourth and the fun still hasn't worn off. I guess I haven't yet become as jaded as some of my fellow Hubbers.
