Knysna Oyster Festival: After watching some really hot racing among the top riders all along the route on the 80km distance it is somewhat shocking to see this PROFESSIONAL rider just managing to come in first before a 16 year old school boy on the 50km distance after sitting in his wheel every time I've seen them during the race. Where has the professionalism gone?

guess who the 16 y/o schoolboy is WinkWhat he means is "Hey don't I deserve some praise for coming in just behind a pro that was wheelsucking me."

Im not 16.....

Thats why he is a pro, knows how to win races. Win the 50 km mtb race for coverage and try win the road race tomorrow. Or team managers orders.

and wouldn't you have expected the pro to ride the 80 with the big boys!
Why? When he can sit on your wheel and let you do the work for his win, why should he?

Because he (team management) knows he can't get podium against the other pro riders. It's like me entering the fun ride and brag when I win it.

Clever tactics if you ask me. Well done he won, he got coverage and his sponsors must be happy.

Do we know if maybe this Pro has been off due to illness, due to a broken bone, Is he a road Pro riding the mtb for fun and saving himself for the road tomorrow?

I'm pulling your leg. If you are the 16 y/o and you finished second, then well done!

The organizers tempted fate by starting the 80km race at 08:00 and the 50km at 09:00. Common sense says they will finish about the same time, causing confusion.

It was a great race to watch and well done to both.

Get facts right Blokes.

1. The "Pro Rider" isn't a pro rider. aka The Champ!!! hes a sub vet.

2. Does mtb just for fun, like you guys i hope!

3. So a 38yr old beats a 16yr old...hope he learn t a lesson.

4. "He wheel sucked all the way" SHAME Cry-

4.1So why did the 16yr old not ride him off

4.2 made him do some pacing and then jump him

4.3 sit up and wait for the bunch... instead he thought he s clever and pull THE CHAMP to the line...BIG MISTAKE. NEVER TAKE THE CHAMP TO THE LINE!!!!!Wink

REFER back to point nmbr 3...

maybe next year...?Wink
