House of Paint / Riders of Shame

Guys' date=' the solution is simple. If they don't want to wear their helmets, thats their choice. They may turn out organ donors, they may not. But it is their choice. Just like the guys speeding, not wearing a seatbelt... Its their choice.

The only thing that they need to do is face the consequence of their action. If they crash, the scramble their pip, that is their choice and their consequence. if it is against the law and they get fined, thats the consequence, if their sponsors rip them a new one, thats their consequence.[/quote']

Pickled, we are so on the same page.

sponsors are scarce in the times we live in - sooo !! if its not dcm, HoP... or or or - some hubbers will never be happy !!! why discredit riders and sponsors on the hub ?? it just does damage !!!! now we as hubbers get confronted ""why is jan ,piet and koos not doing this or that !!!!!!

HEY PICK UP THE PHONE AND ASK THEM !!!!!

and why isnt that done - BECAUSE THE *** MAKER HUBBER (or hiding hubber)DOESNT HAVE THE BALLS TO DO SO !!!!!!!!! and when confronted in public these hubbers are diffferent people !!!

sooo !!! HOUSE OF PAINTS - WHERE YOURE HELMETS YOURE PISSING PEOPLE OFF !!!!!

Did anyone think that it might have been safer to cross while the light was red???

I was there and I noticed LOTS of cyclist crossing red light, but it was safer to do so than to hang around and wait for the cars, and add to the confusion. Cars want to turn left, cyclist want to go straight.etc...

Well, actually there is a rule for that.

SA law says that if you are riding on a public rode, then a cyclist must wear a helmet.

Not sure where this puts all the labourers etc that cannot afford even a helmet.

BUT, there's no credible excuse for the guilty guys spotted. Can say I always wear a helmet, but cannot point fingers on traffic light issues.

.

Ya, it probably was. Just the same is it was probably safer for the OP to have passengers in his car without their seatbelts on, and probably why it is safer for him to speed when he feels he wont get caught.

Oh' date=' it's easier if you look at it this way: be the change you want to see in the world. (Mahatma 'supercallousedfragilemysticplaguedwithhalitosis' Gandhi.) I'm struggling to see how your Right, Crow, riddle us this... On the drive in question, did you, as the operator of the motor vehicle obey each and every road law? Speed limits? Complete stops at stop signs? Stop behind the designated line at traffic lights and such? Kid in question wearing a safety belt? You wearing a safety belt? equals Oh, it's easier if you look at it this way: be the change you want to see in the world. (Mahatma 'supercallousedfragilemysticplaguedwithhalitosis' Gandhi.) Maybe some coffee went into your brain?

You said it. Actually, doesn't matter if it's a woman or a man, they all give me a hard time. I put it down to jealousy... They all want me, they can't have me, so they get all snippy...Wink

If they lose control of their vehicle and crash into some innocent car(s), cyclist(s) or pedestrian(s) will it still be THEIR CHOICE? I think not...Flemish Lion2009-07-07 02:58:51

I am with you 100%, but if Billy is speeding and that does happen, it is still his choice to speed. The involvement of someone else through the crash etc is not their choice, we are on the same page.

My opinion, if you wanna speed and wipe yourself out, go do it somewhere quiet where you can't hurt anyone else.

I think my original point was taken out of context... ooops...the speeding and seatbelt points were supposed to go together.. it sounded right in my head...oh well

Kinda on the same topic, on the way to the race on Sunday morning, a cyclist ran a red light and was knocked over.  Hope he doesn't blame the "stupid motorist" for his broken bike.

For the record, he was wearing a helmet Wink

Hi everybody

I also have something against what these guys do and this is definatly not the first time iv heard about or seen it.

I saw the same thing happen last year after the Amashovashova crit race in PMB, a few of the teams rode with no helmets back to where ever they were going after the race.

This must be the logic of pro riders these days, I hope they know about the really bad example they are setting for the younger guys and girls that look up to them.

They need to wake up and behave like the top level pro riders they claim to be and not worry about showing off there new hairstyles while riding. You are not runway models.

these roadies can take a page or 2 out of the riders from the UCI MTB world cup, when they were in PMB, i went down to watch, they all warmed up on the road with full kit and helmets ON, didnt see a single 1 with no helmet.
