PappaBear Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 The reason I ask is because I recently got the SRAM x.0 gripshift groupset..... and I find it hard to believe that something else can be better.... comments?
AndreZA Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 "gripshift" is not a groupset, it's just the shifters. The best groupset is the one that gives you the best performance for the least amount of money and that is Shimano SLX.

Racer X Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Damn, the poll would only let me vote once, Viva La Gripshift.
Eldron Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 My vote goes to an XT/XTR mix - XTR is awesome but man it just doesn't last. The perfect gruppo:XTR: shifters, RDXT: FD, BB, crankset, cassette, chain
zeepee Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I rode my LBS's loan bike while i waited for mine to be built up, their loan bike had X.0 trigger shifters and derailers on. (rode it for about 3 weeks and did a good bit of riding on it)My bike has a XT groupset on, and I must be honest i found the XT's shifting to be better than the X.0's. So i would think the XTR would be even better
zeepee Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Eldron- you should try the SLX chain, much cheaper than XT/XTR and it lasts longer......
AndreZA Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 So i would think the XTR would be even better you don't want to try XTR because you would want it and then the rest of the groupset to match and before you know it, you are broke.

nathrix Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 The majority of MTB XC riders in the world ride with Shimano. The best riders in the world ride with SRAM (especially the XO gripshifters, now they ride with the new XX groupset)
