there is also a NASTY camera in the pass between George and Knysna.  THe speed is 60km/hr on a downhill and just behind the sign there is the camera.

Mampara, I am not affected or fined....

I am just asking the question....to see how many other people share my point of view...

No-one was moaning as far as I can see.

But the priciple is that it is still illegal. Yes I too get frustrated by the chops that speed and get away with it when I get caught, but if I was speeding, I was speeding and deserve the fine...

last time I checked' date=' it was against the law to obscure a number plate... [/quote']

When I was living in Brits - the mielie pap and skiet-jou-plaaswerker triangle - I was kindly warned by a local traffis to make my number plat more visible the day I had my towbar installed.

Being Brits, lets just say I did not argue and immediatly complied. Drove to the hardware store (one block away from where he stopped me). Bought a new number plate bracket and installed in the parking lot.

Brits was then one of those towns where the traffis cops worked and would make your life hell if you gave them grief!

So you're complaining because the traffic police did their jobs?
Proper policing would require less than 10% of time spent fining! It's just a handy cash cow!

I got a R500 fine for it and I would like to moan! I thought the laws were for the safety of our roads, but it appears as if they are just there for the sake of making money... Sitting with my cruise control on at the speed limit and some chop pulls out of a dirt road and chases me down (considerably more dangerous than my obscured number plate!) and wastes 15 minutes of my life writing out the fine...

I agree.... and

Speeding is unsafe and Speed KILL.....your non-visible nunmber plate does not kill

Why dont the cops spend more time cathing the speedster then?Cliffhanger2009-07-13 02:12:34
