Chris Joubert Posted July 14, 2009 Share Howzit, part of my training plan is to commute to work and back via pedal power. I stay in Honeydew Ridge, close to Strubens Valley. I want to cycle to Jhb CBD where I work. The route I am thinking about is to get onto HP near Clear Water Mall, all the way up to Gordon Road, down Gordan Road, through Sophia Town and Westdene, over the Westdene Dam, through Brixton with a short detour into Fordsburg into Simmond/Sauer where I work. Any one know of any better routes?
AndreZA Posted July 14, 2009 Share That sounds the best but at the moment getting from HP over the highway at Gordon road is a nightmare. It's gonna be quite a workout. Good luck.

amateur Posted July 14, 2009 Share Another option is going through Linden onto Barry Hertzog and then into town that way, maybe a little out of the way but maybe a bit safer as I agree with Mampara the roadworks over the highway by Gordon is a bit messy at the moment, also it'll add some km's which is always good! You can PM slowpoke, she used to cycle into Braamfontein from Bromhof and had a few options on routes, I'm sure she can help you out with some ideas. amateur2009-07-14 03:55:
Chris Joubert Posted July 14, 2009 Share Thanks folks, I know slowpoke so I will bug her a bit, but I found a lekker route that avoids Hendrik Potgieter and Gordon Road, cross the Highway at Haak en Steek, its only 23km, but I go through Northcliff and Alberts Farm, and the hills there are killers. Wat nie dood maak nie maak groot, now where did I leave my EPO...
