I'm leaving on Sunday 26th, out via Dubai to UK......so Saturday 25th will be my last ride in SA/CT for a long while. The plan is to do as close as dammit, to the Argus route. Weather dependent of course. As a back up; if the rain is around in Cape Town but not in the districts we can look at Stellenbosch/Franschoek or 4 passes as an alternative......let's wait and see. No waiting for Wannasuckwheels or AirBents on da climbs...I haven't been putting in 500km plus weeks for the last 2 months ,in order to wait for your holiday vacation fat induced lard asses !!

Any other spec's for Saturday's (weather dependent) ride? I will be riding for two - myself and Airbender (in his absence).

headhunter Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Weather appears to be OK for Saturday.... a little bit of a NNW wind (will help once over Chappies) and no rain. Let's keep an eye on it. Plan is to park/start at VA at Greenpoint around 8'ish, follow the revised Argus route of Wannabe's 'til Camps Bay. Have a decent coffee & little breakfast there (about a 30min stop). Anyone with further ideas can add here. So far the riders are : HH (me)Tankman (maybe)SirKWannabe (maybe)

Same route as the "Peninsula Tour"? So starting Virgin Active Green Point? Had an amazing ride out the Chappies on Saturday morning, one of the best mornings I have had the pleasure of enjoying up there Sorry, posted at the same time.
headhunter Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 No racing......ave speed is what the majority does i.e. you wanna race each other to the top of a climb, wait at the top for the rest. Probably a 4h30 ride including coffee stop.......

Cheers I'm out riding So am I , but I am going round the Peninsula again. Gonna do Kloofnek and over into the Camps Bay and continue round to Noorhoek Farmstall. BEAUTY day out there and might be the last ride I have on my own bike in SA. My bike is getting collected on Friday for Shipping on Monday morning
