Not gonna cycle tomorrow, feeling a bit under the weather (damn cold and snow!). Might make an appearance on Saturday if the rain clears.

p.s. My butt might not be happy with me if I scare it with a 4hr cycle. Enjoy!

Me and MariusL hit the tarmac to Somerset West via Blackheath, Eersterivier. Returned via S'bosch and Klapmuts.

Hooked up with Sarel, on his 5 hr ride, and had a good ride.

It was Brrrrrr out there at times with great views of the mountains and valleys.

Another 100 kms - yeeesss!

Base training is going lekka funky.

Let's make the peloton happen...

Chip in your preferences and let's see what's cookin':

Start at sunrise - 0730.

OR

Less chilly - 09h30ish.

3hr ride OR 4+

--------------------------------------------

I am good for a 09h30 start and a 3 hr ride.

Then again, I can easily be persuaded to a 4 + hr ride...

A few long route suggestions to consider:

MY NEW FAVOURITE FLAT CENTURY TRAINING ROUTE.

Long, flat route route: Wellington robots to Malmesbury & back via Kalbaskraal, Old Malmesbury Rd, and Adderley Street - 100 kms or so.

WHAT I REALLY WANNA GET MY CADENCE INTO SOON:

Challenging and hilly: Bottelary > Kromme Rhee > Helshoogte > Klapmuts > Frankie's Corner Shop > Fisantekraal > Wellington Rd - 100 kms or so.

Will be going out at 07h30 from Parc Du Cap. Going to Melkbos and back. Never done that route, keen to do it. Will be using Mtb on road to get as much out of approx 70km ride.

Geno/MariusL, you joining?

Wannabe...

Geno & I are meeting at 09:30 (when its a lot warmer) at the Caltex garage in Wellington road for a 3hr ride (towards Malmesbury and back). Tarmac and road bikes all the way...

MariusL, no probs, enjoy your ride.

Prefer to use the Mtb on the wet roads. Cuts down on uneccessary wear and tear on road bike, caused by wet weather/muck/grime/etc on roads.
