Up Vissershok down Tiekie Draai and home, a nice 40km circuit.

Good day gents, wannabe pointed me to this thread...I need to join up with a group for longer training rides as I'm training for the DC.

The bulk of my team is in Joburg, so I need a local group in the northern suburbs. Please let me know when you guys go out for your rides...

Hearts, what pace do you currently ride at / what condition are you in?

 

I have just recovered from my Cold/Flu/Sleg geit, and must start training in earnest for the 1 Tonner. Quite unfit at present, but I want to start doing LSD rides of 3 - 4 hrs soon. Unfortunately I can only ride this amount of time on a Saturday, starting 14 Sept.

I then also want to do / organise a 1 Tonner route recce ride on 05 October (but there is the Nelsons Creek race on Sunday 06 Oct). This is the perfect date, as it gives the Karoo to Coast riders a two week recovery period and is also two weeks before the actual 1 Tonner race.

What races are people doing in the coming months?

1. West Coast Express 85km 13th October

2. One Tonner 156km 14th October

3. Engen Cycle Challenge 109km 10th November

4. Lagoon Challenge 80km 16th November

5. Die Burger 92km 1st December

 

Not sure about One Tonner at moment as haven't been training but if people have registered who are training I'm keen to join, otherwise it's WC Express for me this time around.

 

@Wannabe, I heard that the Nelson Creek was cancelled this year or have I dreamt that?
