 it's actually too early for my schedule as well... it's a b%$#h getting up that early, i tell you

It is tough.

I can get up at 5 AM in summer and start the ride at 05h30. That is Spring/Summa.

Otherwise, I say...

HAHA! Reminds me of a quote on my casual day sticker - the early bird may catch the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese

Had a scintillating morning ride - high-tempo through TIekiedraai, Kontermans and VIssershok.

Drizzle turned into rain.

Rain turned into more rain. And my shoes squished with H2O with every cadence.

Then... I suddenly remembered: "Oops, my new glossy iPhone is NOT in a plastic bag."

Turned back from Nitida-se-kant to the nearest garage/shop in Kenridge.

No shops open at 06h00!

FInd the nearest batch of newspaper delivery at the 7/11. Unwrap the plastic cover. And all set to move on.

So, Cycling Rule Nr 82 - Seal your cellphone in a jiffy bag.

Cycling Rule Nr 18 - Check the weather before you leave home.

Cycling Rule Nr 159 - Find the nearest newspaper delivery for your unsealed cellular and wrap it in plastic.

Why bother ? The iPhone ( if you are talking i4?) would not have any issues in getting a little wet in your back shirt pockets. It's encased in glass all around.

I used to for winter training times.

Actually enjoyed the wet. Just so good to be out on the iron horse after limited training opporunities the past month. Couldn't care... :P

Looking at cycling to Fish Hoek on Sunday if the weather is good - gets a good 100 kay ride in for the weekend. Will drop you a mail tonight - lank busy. barely enough time to type this message.

Food is fuel for the endurance athlete.

Bad food is uncool.

Ahoi SirK... Church is in Noorhoek (just off the slopes of OuKaapse Weg). Was thinking of riding there on Sunday actually (have the option of doing a half marathon in Constantia as well thou). I go via TikkieDraai, Milnerton, Town, via KloofNek, Llundudno, Chappies. 65km route. Although now that it is lighter earlier in the morning, I'm thinking of including Black Hill, Red Hill, Kommetjie and maybe OuKaapse Weg to get some good quality climbing miles in my legs... be prepared to be broken after that ride ;) It could be close to about 110km's (I did it in reverse a few Sundays ago - was about 115km, but came back via Sea Point - not KloofNek)? It would be cool to have some company on the ride...
