HAHA! You guys ragging each other and the race is only tomorrow! save it for race morning chirps.

Anyways, update on my lekker ride this morning. Well.... OK ride I guess. I got a flat on Bottelary and Blackie got one just outside Franschoek.

The Metropolitan Team was actually OK - I hung back with Gert over Helz and Blackie waited at the top. Cruised through Pniel and Franschoek and the pass is actually OK - myself and Blackie waited at the top for the racing team to come back up from the other side.Quite a mean bunch of muscle that lot are.

Racing team stopped at Vrede & Lust (think that is how it's spelled) for coffee and a muffin along the Simondium road (there by the train tracks at the beginning) - myself and Blackie carried on to Durbanville via Simondium Road, Old Paarl and then the road that cuts through the Kraaifontein informal settlement.

My stats are as follows:

Time: 5Hr 45Min 50Sec

Distance: 135.67Km

Ave Speed: 23.4Km/H (not that great but the punctures did slow us down a little ;) )

Max Speed: 72Km/H (what an awesome feeling coming down Franschoek Pass at that speed and it's cold air that is rushing over you! :D )

Anyways, enjoy the race tomorrow. Hope the weather holds! I'm off to the beach tomorrow :D See you lot next weekend for the D'ville race B)

Airbender and Domisse, here's a thought. I fall back to your starting group, then you can see me suffer in person the whole ride, or for as I long as I manage to hang onto your wheels. :P :D

I wonder where that idea came from? A whisper from your phone to your ear? :D Enjoy guys!

C'mon, you gotta beat the 8.0 hr mark. That would be avg 25 km/h.

Otherwise, it is just such a looong day...

The D Ville High School race is 1 of 2 'home' races, alongside the fantastically tough 99er...

Are you gonna be there, D Ville Rider?

Check out the West Coast Express thread, SirK.

On the whole, I met my goal - to finish up there in the J.

And to be safe.

My racing legs are returning. Lekka!
