Was going to go out with Hildi this morning but she was tired from limited sleep during the week - was K@K hot here - 29°C at night!!!!!

I am doing the 99'er route tomorrow morning with Sadiq and a few others :D

See you soon man..... Any takers to join the ride tomorrow?

Well, today's ride was..... interesting and ssslllllloooooooooowwwwwwww

5hr28min for 113.72Km - Average of 20.6Km/H. This with a puncture change (not mine thankfully)

There were parts of the route that I couldn't even remember from previous expeditions  but we made it in the end.

Concerns:

1. Roadworks on voor paarde berg (one tonner route). Patches of tar redone but lots of gravel. One lane closed on section of road.

2. Roadworks on Klipheuwel road towards the silo's. One lane closed.

sorry about it being so slow today. Yesterday's ride and today's ride was clearly to much for my dad. He usually rides allot stronger than he did today. Thanx for showing us the route today, Im convinced that if u werent with us today we'd still be in Malmesbury lol

It's fine that it was slow.... just a bit slower than anticipated - was aiming for 4 and a bit hours for today. Keep well man and see you on race day :D

btw what is the next race planned after 99'er? I am looking at doing the Wilde Cycle Race (19/02) - have lifesaving duty the 20th so can't do Medallion on the Sunday. Any takers?

That long (slow) ride will stand you in good stead in the future.

Yeah, I also thought we'd hit the 4 hour and a bit mark dry.gif .

Good luck on race day

How was your 2nd time up Vissershok, SirK?

Did you end up at the top of Uncle Odendaal?

One challenging route, eh?

Not for the average fun rider, I believe. ;)

Great leg loosener this morning.

Got back to beautiful SA yesterday...

Just to shake off the jet lag and start dropping some of those great hamburgers I had in Obama Land.

Was quite chilly out.
