So' date=' if you can get your hands on a ti hardtail frame, what do you strap onto it?

XTR group?
SRAM XX?

RockShox?
Fox?

Raceface?
Ritchey?

Mavic crossmax?
Bontrager?
XTR?

Selle?
Fizik?
Specialized?

I'm leaning towards waiting for the SRAM XX, take a RockShox sid, raceface bar, stem & post, Specialized saddle, and put it all on Mavic crossmax wheels.

Just shub a whole lot of exotic components onto any HT ti frame and Bob's your Uncle. Your wallet will be 50 to 70 K lighter and you'll have a 7 Kg hardtail.

BTW thanks for the info Mampara

Nice!!

What crankset is that?

And the seatpost? - What's that red-jobby towards the bottom?

How old is your frame?

Oh - and why is the sky blue?

And why are sweet-meats called that when they're not sweet and they're not meat?

And why are Guinea-pigs named accordingly when they're not pigs and they're not from Guinea?

And why....

Why do you call a lightweight bike like that a "beast"? I would rather call it a dainty bee. A beast is more toward AM. Rock shox Revelation stuff. Nevegal tires. SLX gruppo. 180mm rotors. XT M770 wheels.

For a lightweight bee(If money was no object) I would go for XTR crank and FD, XO the rest. Hope mini's, SID WC, DT swiss XRC 1250 carbons. KCNC stuff and a Gobi. Race King Supersonics.

Goodbadugly you are on the money. Baiesukkel you are building an xc whippet boet, not a beast.

That aside, I am only chirping you can have one these and I can't (well not yet...Wink). So that make me jealous and hopefully not to nasty... if you going super lightweight and Ti, then you gotta kit out your XTR with some Yumeya kit...www.shimano-yumeya.com/

Happy building

Yumeya is just Shimano gimmick, the costs are horrendous and the weight savings are minimal. If you want the whole XTR effect then by all means go for Yumeya how ever if you are after extreme weight savings then I suggest other avenues.

Those M 960's are wicked. I have 2 one modified to run three rings and another I got off chrispaxman to run a sweet duo ratio of 28/44. Both cranksets are going to get gold stenciled logos applied as soon as I get vinyl cut outs. Wondering wether I should spray the dou matt silver. The chrome finish is a bit bling Ermm
