Always nice to have pista (track) specific pedals on track bike. They differ from strada (road) pedals as they don't have an outer cage and increase the lean angle of pista bikes on the track banking.

Some pics......

Lets get this steel bike thing going where we can put down an enquiry to what we need so that we can complete projects and assist others to complete projects.

I need a 26.8mm Campagnolo seat pin (seat post) if anyone has one lying about?

Finished rebuilding these in the week. It's getting warmer and quite pleasant to work in the garage during the evenings.

Lotus Sport with Madfiber wheels and 10spd DA.

Giant Once team TT bike with SRAM Red and Mavic Carbone Premium wheels.

Look KG196 with Record and Bora Ultra's

Had a Lotus back when they were still legal to race on track - should never have parted with it. I have a Look KG196 now that I have built with a period-correct Mavic groupset (hoping to swap it over to Mavic Zap electronic shifting soon!) and a set of Mavic 3G wheels. Love the futuristic retro bikes, and the modern components do suit them, but personal preference is for a period correct build. Still, a drool-worthy collection of carbon artistry if ever there was one!

Thank you Trispoke, I wish the bikes were mine but unfortunately not.

The owner is selling the Giant ONCE frame if anyone is looking for a nice retro build. See the link https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/177908-road-frames-forks/ for details.

I have a 59cm, as stamped, Vitus 979 frame& fork.

It's early 80s, probably 82/84.

It has the seat post bolt and clamp, not the grub screw.

It has a single water bottle point, not 2.

The cable routing is internal along the top tube.

It is too big for me.

I don't want to sell it, I want to swop for a smaller size, 54 to 56, if anyone is interested.

Happy to send pics, if anyone really interested.

I don't have much to show.... riding other stuff and, you know, life are getting in the way...

But I was determined to at least ride her this weekend. The handlebar is mostly straightened although one drop could come up slightly more still, and I just grabbed a cheapie box of stitched tape for now. Most disappointed by the seatpost...the Cinelli one is missing, and I ended up slotting in a very scratched Laprade, so I will be on the hunt for some 26.8 stuff like loosecog too! Cheapies pedals too...apparently we are going to Ron's place in the next week...like we were supposed to last week and the week before... :whistling:

Anyhows...apart from the huge toe overlap - not so sure about the fork all of a sudden... - she rides beautifully! Nippy and just a wee bit nervous! Love it!

Okay, now to get properly stuck in now that I have got a ride out of it!

Will post some more pics on Monday...just stealing from free wifi for the moment...

Nice build there so far Tumbleweed!

Where did you go ride, HNP?

Love to have joined you.

Yep, 26.8's are evading me. Need two ATM. Building a small Zini for the missus for Eroica and only found a long 300mm plus black Kalloy. May be from an old MTB?

Mmh, saddle?

Didn't go to the track - was at the bike shop in the morning, and there was racing at HNP later. Took it out on the roads around my burbs.

Funnily enough, I am looking for a 26.8 for an old MTB sorta rebuild...and coming up short for now too! Oh, well, the fun is in the search, right?!

Will keep my eyes open for both of us!
