...what do you guys think of this?

sure it's a 2006... but obike is selling them brand new for R19500.

Even just for the parts it seems. Fox 40 RC2, Fox DHX 5, Hope Mono 4 brakes.

I wonder how well the gearbox works? Anyone ever seen one of these in action?

Patches I swear I posted up that link and asked the same question. I think it's awesome, but heavy and the gearing system is apparently really bad.

didnt get out today... been working working working!

Will try tomo or thursday, weather permitting! When i last went it was wet- and gnarly! Couldnt beleive how much harder it was, even just to stay on the straights! felt like i was drifting as i hit roots rock and mud. all good tho! If you get there by 1730, its possible to get 2/3 runs in b4 dark!

yep, i try to get up the hill as fast as i can push :D sometimes, i cycle up, but most times, i just push. I find it pretty chilled to just walk and admire the scenery. Very dramatic weather in cape town of late, so well appreciated :)

yep, when it's wet, SH is damn sketch. You cant even walk up properly without slipping. You now well know how it is trying to bomb down. But all part of the learning curve, and as I mentioned previously. You might ride the same lines when dry, but when wet, that same line will see you unwrapping your face from the nearest tree. It's quite fun! :)

I kinda thought u were on the hill today, cos i saw two dudes bomb the fire roads. one was wearing what seemed like a bandana around his face. I thought yay! some dudes i could play Follow Me with. turned out totally meh as they didnt even hit the track. <_<

btw LDF: I didnt bail on you wrt the bashplate and chain device. My giant's cranks aren't self removing: have to use a crank puller, hence it must goto the shop to be removed. Soz for the delay.

Oh cap, I have patience! Looking forward to getting them on! Luckily my cranks come off super easily. Almost too easily.... Any way my DIY Chain Device DOES NOT WORK! My chain still comes off.. almost every run. The worst is you only notice when you try to peddle... ouch!

dude. SUPER SKETCH. after two OTB involuntary dismounts due to chainsnaps, I have big respect for the health of my chain. Granted, since having mounted my chain devices, I've never slipped a chain. But I have had chains snap on me, one at near full speed. Threw me nicely down the SH fire road. Still dont remember much, except: a spinning mix blue green blue green, blue brown wtf.....SLAM!

hahaha! oh my bad! I musta missed it!

Yeah, I figured this beast must weigh in rather hefty. And nexus gearing is meant for old people touring the countryside...

I guess I just saw that Fox 40, and DHX 5 and wanted it! hahaha!
