Howzit guys.

Do any of you have any experience with replacing hydraulic hose on Avid Elixir brakes with aftermarket coloured hose?

I REALLY wanna get some green hose, but don't know where to 4k to start

Dude! That is hectic.

If you google images "chris kovarik" you get more images of the intense M6 than of Chris. I think they should put him on their factory team.

this from the marketing manager for Intense:

Nigel Page is still the team boss of CRC. Since Nigel landed the CRC deal, he has been employed by them and still is.

CRC/Intense was never our 'factory' team. We stopped doing that a few years back. It is time for us to have an in-house factory team. And we are dedicated to that, despite our smaller size and infrastructure compared to companies 100x our size.

We supplied bikes to CRC and used them as our research, design and development team. Everyone at CRC from the CRC people, to Nigel and the racers were and are world class in every regard. CRC was seen as a competitor to a few of our international distributors and it became a bit of a problem and that mixed in with CRC owning the nukeproof brand, we all decided it was best to move on.

I think Nigel will have a new roster, some people staying, some people leaving, I do not want to speak for him.

As for Intense and downhill racing, I believe the M9-FRO is the best bike we have ever made and was so great to have all the riders who raced the proto all season just have rave reviews, it was also shocking to know that between all those bikes out there, all the races, all the crashes, all the traveling...we did not have ANY issues or failures with the M9-FRO bikes and nice to have everyone on that team asking if they can ride for Intense next year as they loved the bikes so much.

We did have a VERY encouraging meeting with an outside sponsor, things are moving faster than expected so stay tuned for more. The little engine that could keeps on charging along.

I'm just e-speculating, but it seems to me that underlined bit seems to confirm many of the complains about Intense DH frames cracking within a year.

Ride with my Fox Flux atm...still learnin the DH stuff though :(

But sucks having to ride alone all the time cos you don;t have ppl to push you :(

Meh, tis like sk8ing alone...fun for a bit but u don't progress very fast...

You guys seen Follow Me the movie by Shimano? Fooooook me :|

thermo: do yourself a favor and if u practicing your DH, dont ride with a pee pot. I was out training and forgot i only had a FOx Flux on, and bam! massive faceplant after the front washed.

also, going out on your own is of course naturally dangerous as you might be badly injured. So take extra precautions, aka, use a FF helmet. But whether on your own or not, you must force yourself out of your comfort zone. If u railing that corner comfortably, it;s a probably a done deal u going too slow. Push yourself at little things: brake later, brake less, lean a little more, stay more over the front etc.. It's those little acts that pushes the boundaries of your comfort zone, well at least that works for me.

Thanks Cap...yeah, I been following your wipe man :( Sucks big time and glad I have not had one like that on a bike yet!...Well sort of up in Guinea...but thats a long story :P

Yeah, probably a good idea to get a ff sometime...

I rode the DH course here (George) the other night in the dark with a light...man that was SUPER fun :D And I am sure I was going faster...Think it had to do with the fact that the light forces you to focus on the trail more.

I would dig to ride this course with some ppl sometime just too see if I really am going as slowly as I think I am.

The breaking later thing is awesome I must say...I just need to get better at cornering and shifting body weight around and keeping more on the front wheel cos I fell like I am going to wash out at times blink.gif scary...but thats probably the main reason i like this riding :D

Anyway, gonna bring the bike to CT on the weekend of 22 Oct and try get a ride in at Tokai or Paarl (gf lives across from Tyger Valley so it's kinda in the middle I guess) :) ... but haven't seen her in like 2 months so hope I can get a morning off ;)

if she near tygervalley, go ride Majik forest. Not exactly a DH course, but it's fun at speed, with some mild step downs nearer the bottom section. Just good simple fun.

Sweet :) That the big hill behind Tygervalley with the radio/tower thing on top?

Yeah...something this course is missing is a few drop offs to be honest...there MUST be more guys riding it cos it is well maintained but I never seem to run into them :P

Posted

ye...well it currently doesn't have any drop offs...they made the one a roll-in and made the jump after it bigger and the other one they also made a roll in and then made the berm going into the last section a bit bigger too...

Hopefully gonna film the thing sometime soon then will post a video of it (but no laughing at me :P ) ....
