Just take the brakes off, you've already got a kid slowing you down! Tongue

I can imagine it would depend on the design of the specific unit, but it should be okay.

Velo, I have one of those on my MTB which has v-brakes. I don't think you will have any hassles with a disc brake setup as it is low-down on the frame.

If you not sure, find an LBS with a carrier in stock and ask them to fit it before you buy.

Just a warning: those carriers are so comfy that my son goes to sleep within 10 minBig%20smile Either way it's a win-win situation, he gets his sleep in and I get my training in

Yes, you'll have no problem fitting it, a new seat unit comes complete with nuts, bolts, spacers and brackets!! good luck..

Thanks for the info guys. Going to try before i buy. Cant wait to hit the trails with my 14 month old daughter. I wonder if they make helmets for her little head.

yes they do.............I have a Barney helmet for my 13mnth old. Unless you have a full suspension, stay off the trails. They bounce around like crazy on the back.

Good advice.

The other problem is that the bike tends to become a bit top heavy with the extra weight. kids of that age don't yet know about keeping the balance on a bike. They just flop to the side that you turn.

If you go off road keep it as flat and smooth as possible.

first check that it does fit.I had a trek with v brakes and the carrier fitted perfectly. It however does not fit on either my raleigh or mongoose ,both which have discs. As to the sleeping yes,but untill then they do a lot to improve bike handling skills with sudden movements to a side.Hope you get sorted.

Yes... they were very helpful and shipping was not too expensive. I got the whole thing shipping included for $120. Also paid VAT when it came into the country.

It's got a few drawbacks:

1. Only works up to 17kg

2. Your knees do hit  the seat so you have to cycle slightly bow legged but I have done 1 hour plus rides and it is fine.

The rest is all positive.
