Ok...

I'm registered with CSA and expected to start in the front group in K2C.  My best K2C finish was 17th. This year's time goal is sub 3hr20. I'm in best form ever.

4 podiums the past 4 weeks.

The fastest were:

80km Volkswagen Valley of Flags MTB - 2 hours 44 mins.

85km Lions Kat MTB Challenge (1700m vertical) - 3 hours 5 mins.

So I received this email from the K2C organisers, telling me that PPA seeded me to start in starting in start group 7 ?????

WTF??? I'm still trying to get over it.... start group 7.....

My racing partner, (female) equally capable, seeded to start in group 4. After we just recently registered her with CSA to get her to race against the pro ladies in K2C...

Am I missing something here?

CSA dont know about your time in those races

Why not? The races were CSA sanctioned...they asked my CSA number... or is it a case of CSA taking money again for being absent or invisable?

Surely CSA know about my previous K2C times.

Mondi Addo when I was 6 mins behind Max Knox, and ahead of a few guys in 'sponsored team' kit... ALSO a CSA sanctioned one... They even subtracted 10% of my prize money for CSA or the UCI or who knows what for...

The 24hr Solo I won...

It's not like I'm a stranger.

How can they put a registered top rider in group 7....?

Your best was 17th, what did you do last year? Maybe thats what they going on? Also if you have the best form ever you will rock anyway from wherever you start. Good luck

Maybe they going on that then? Give them a call and see what they say??

Hell no

I had the pleasure to start in group 6 in the past and its hell. Dropped my group from the gun caught the back markers of the group that started 5 min in front of us just before we hit the dirt. And then sh*t starts they are blocking or walking where you else could ride three times as fast. You nee to pas through the bushes knee high to pass losing power and increasing chances of a puncture.

Then on th downhill they ride 20 on the good stretch forcing you on the rocks. Made me puncture had a very very lonely day.

My problem was being foreign and so no sa MTB results except for that race the day before that I won.

life can be hard if not correctly seeded

That is actually quite shocking.  I mean, it's like there's all these associations and organisations we need to belong to, but yet, this happens.  Neeee wat, dit maak nie lekker sin nie, I would've been so peeved.  I think you must give them a call and ask them what's going on.

Think that PPA did the seeding for this race. Now you guys know why we in the western cape bitch about them constantly on the hub. Give them a call and tell them. For you to start in that group you might as well save yourself the trip Jaco-fiets2009-09-15 13:26:19

why you bitching about csa? PPA are the ones that seeded you, maybe the PPA don't take your csa results into account because they are not ppa events.
