Where have all the street sweepers gone

Hey guys.

for the past couple of months i have been getting more and more p1ssed off.

what is the deal with all the glass on our roads.

 

there used to be those cool little trucks that sprayed water on the road and had these hard circular brush megafters.

 

i am now consistently getting punctures (at least i have mitigated that by making my tires bulletproof + heavy )

 

i want to know if youall have the same deal - and for some reason on my route the main culprit seems to be broken windhoek lager bottles.

But it saddens my heart and it is starting to really p!ss me off.

Its not the missing street sweepers that you/we should be lamenting, its the w@nkers that throw the bottles in the first place.

On the route I normally take to meet the club there is a big intersection that always has lots of sand/rocks/glass/various other bits as you cross the lanes. 

 

Not sure who cleared it up but I couldn't believe my eyes when I rode past the other day and the street was all swept clean.  Was nice to see.  Seems to be swept clear regularly now although I've never noticed anyone sweeping - whoever you are

true about people needing to clean up after themselves -

but they dont that is the naked truth.

 

I want the street sweeper trucks back.

it is not fun having to meander into the lane dodging glass only to have some mullet ZOOOM past in his XR3 with odd mags and a wooden spoiler.

...... same as our National Flower..... the Soweto Rose that blooms in the Autumn. They proliferate in bloom when the August (not to be confused with ARGUS) winds starts blowing. They come in various different colours and they bloom very well in barbed wire fences and old trees. The flower can be identified by the name Shoprite, Pick and Pay, Spar Edgars, AC Kermans etc. In the more affluent areas they may have the names Versage, Dior, Diesel, etc printed on them.

I had a accident happen across the road from my place on Thursady last week and the glass,bumper and peice of fender are still lying there.

I have phoned traffic dept twice now.

If someone donates me a tandem and 100 brooms i will rig the brooms up like one of those graders and cycle around the country.....anytakers?

i had a moan a little while back about the roads in the jozi cbd a while back, but i gotta say that the street downtown are soooooo much cleaner now that they have been in years. the city's looking good.
