Hey Guys and Gals.

I am sad to say that i belong to CGC ( central gauteng cycling ) as a cyclist today!! i read that they would have a prize giving for all of there cyclist at the end of the year!! truth be told they had one and i made sure that i went there. I am shocked how little poeple actually attended this function!!! i ride in the morning and see thousands of poeple that all belong to the CGC. SOOOOO many poeple did not pitch up to collect there prizes and gold medals!! it is sad to think that we as cyclist would not attend such a great function put together by poele who are always under the blade for critisism!! I have heard many poeple complain about R75 that they had to pay to CGC and what the CGC did for them?? Well all can be sure that the CGC waisted all that money on a great show and prizegiving and most of the poeple did not attend!!(great for all who went)

My question though is how where poeple supposed to know about such an event?? Was it supposed to be driven from a club point of veiw?? Even the big clubs did not attend this, ones who are supposedly all for the good of cycling!!! There were also loads of athletes that did not recieve there medals!! Did they not know about this or are they just not interested??

These are only thoughts and questions!!!!

Any Takers??

Regards

I got a mail informing me of this event, then asked CGC to put out a list of persons getting awards, so we could decide wheter to go or not. Nothing received to date, so we did not go.

I belong to one of the larger JHB clubs and I heard nothing about this event ( I recall it was going to happen but didn't know when). Why didn't they put an ad here or on another high-traffic site, such as Cyclelab's?

I am, unfortunately, not clairvoyant.

I get your point, i would have been more rewarding for them to advertise themselfs,it is just strange that we were notified via our club and regular emails were forwarded to us from our club wich they recieved from cgc. should we not look at the clubs that are supposed to have all their members details and regular mails being sent out, rather than always blaming CGC.

I may sound in favour of CGC, but just see there effort and feel that they always get shot out of the air and really feel that they went way out to make it a great cycling awards and social event!

If our club was informed about this on a regular basis i am sure all the clubs were on the same mail. Maybe they only favoured some clubs??

CGC informed all the clubs on numerous mails, as well as a list of all receiving awards, we even published the awards evening on face book, and on twiiter, and on our website, as the administrater of CGC, i am tired of cyclists always wanting to point fingers at us, what happened in the past is not now, CGC has come a long way, and yes we informed all about this event, so please if you want to look for fault, maybe you should all look on your own doorsteps first, we put lots of effort into this event, i worked till midnight for 2 weeks to make it a success, and every weekend, i never asked for anything in return, but to make it a success for you guys the cyclists, so stop using this site to always run us dowm, if you got something nasty to say, phone or email, and lets sort it out, for once i would love to see a flippin well done CGC, it was a great evening, thanks, just my 2c worth

Can you please point us to the reference of the list on CGC website, as I cannot find it.
