Tankman Posted October 21, 2009 Share it takes some patience, soon as you think you are making progress a new obstacle will have to be overcome, that is what makes building your own bike so exciting!
stewie911 Posted October 21, 2009 Share If I buy a front shock, will I need a steerer length which is the same as my current mtb or will it depend on the geometry of the new frame?
gongmech Posted October 21, 2009 Share It depend on the geometry of your frame, your frame size, and most NB what type of bike you're building. U dont want to buy a 150mm travel shock for a XC frame becos that'll just stuff up the geometry.

Andyr249 Posted October 22, 2009 Share Building it up from scratch is a great way to make it just how you want it. I have just done a similar thing with my road bike. Put on the wheels, components, colour of handle bar tape and saddle that I want. Would never be able to buy it like it is from any shop.
