they are brilliant all round wheels, i just found that they are not very fast at all. but you can use them in any weather condition and they last pretty long.

race kings are very fast and have surprisingly good grip in the wet but they do wear quickly. i would only use them on the back wheel though cause they dont have the best cornering traction.

Not sure on the spec. though. but iv got the spec. 'The captain" and i love it. very good in anything,ie, wet, dry, fast, longevity.

hope my 2c helps

The crossmarks weighs a ton but arent bad tyres. Very good allround tyres and lasts relatively long. I prefer the race kings. They are light, fast rolling and reliable. Run a 2.0 front and 2.2 at the back. Or race king front and mountain king at the back

I currently ride with Scott Ozones and they are just brilliant. But there is no stock available. I heard the race kings are a winner and very good tyres, but I dont want to spend a R1000 on tyres each month.

LBS owner told me Spesialized Fast Track UST are very nice, but also a bit heavy on the pocket. If they run just as good as the conti's i'd much rather take them

the conti's are around R750 per tire. Spec make top of the range everything so if you go that way i doubt you will be dissapointed.

im currently on maxis monorail UST front, Larsen TT back. I love this combo, and they last pretty long, and weight is not bad at all

I havnt ridden them yet,but by the way people buy them im sure they good..One guy said they not very good in the wet(wasnt made for that).,Couple a guys run 2.4 mountain king in front with a 2.2 raceking in the rear, and are happy

If you just want to go middel of the road it is the tyre for you.

They are not light but not moerse heavy.

They are not good in mud, but excelent in the dry.

Not the fastest but not slow.

One thing where you cant beat them is longlivety and puncture resistant!

The tubeless Crossmarks are also good for extreme rocky conditions - seriously strong sidewalls, very little chance of cutting them on a rock.

I used crossmarks for a few year, and was moderately happy with them.

They last long, but a quite heavy.

I know use Specialized Fast track, and they are VERY nice, fast light and not to expensive (I think R450 for 2bliss model.) They only proble is that I seem to get a disproportionately high amount of small cuts in the tread from stone with them.

Have used Crossmark and Conti Race and Mountain Kings. Crosmark is the best ito grip I feel more confident with them. The Mountain and Race  Kings are not grippy and with Mountain Kings in the front the wheel washes out  and then sort of grips. On Saturday I rode with my Conti's in the Mud and they do not clear mud at all. My ideal is Ignitors Front and Crossmarks back.

A lot of peolpe use Kenda Karmas - lighter but not as strong as Croosmark - saying that i have used them for 3 Sani2c's a nd not one problem - also a better mud tyre but then if its really muddy nothing works !!!

I use the crossmarks on my GT. In the year that I have had them on my bike, I have had one puncture. The sidewalls are STRONG but that adds a bit of weight.

I run the crossmark rear tyre in reverse for a but more grip - just a personal thing...

When it is time for new tyre's, I will try omething new, not because I have anything against the crossmarks, but just because I can!

The thing I will look for in a tyre will be:

1. Sidewall protection

2. overall durabillity

3. price

Things that won't influence my choice in tyre:

1. Grippiness in mud

2. Weight - yes I will go for a lighter tyre but only if it is just as durable than the others.

I like Crossmarks, but only in the dry. Middle of winter in the Cape they don't work well. Strong and long lasting though.

Kenda Karma is a good all rounder, much better in the mud than the Crossmark.

Have not tried the Contis.

CRC must just get their tyre stock sorted.

Their prices are good, but at present they are out of stock on many of the decent UST tyres.

Did Epic 09 on Crosmarks at back and Monorail front. Not 1 puncture and solid wheels no issues and no other wheels for me thanks.

Lots of grip in the rough stuff and solid on rock gardens. Unless you going for the win and love taking a chance or two these wheels are the ones to use.

PS: Remember the Monorail in front as this is way more grippy that the Crosmark just my 2 cents worth and Epic to prove it
