Recommended Posts

So after all the negative comments on forums across the globe about how ugly and silly those arty farty bikes of LA was that he rode this season, he has raised $1.25mil for his cancer foundation with them. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Remembering that one of his objectives with his comeback was to raise awareness for cancer, I think there's plenty people out there that would love to have one of those farty bikes if they're willing to spend up to $500k for one  LOL<?: prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" />

Um, no.  Just seven people with more money than sense.  LOL  Although when you spend money on an ugly bike, the fact that the money is going to a good cause makes it easier to justify.  Wink
I wonder if I glue butterflies to an Uno if it will raise much money?

O' date=' and Nothingness, it was an auction, so chances are there where actually more than 7 people willing to buy the bikes

Of course.  But somewhere during the auction the other bidders decided that they weren't going to pay more than the $500k or $130k, or whatever.  Only seven people actually went ahead and made those bids.

In any event there was only one person willing to pay $500k for one of the bikes.  The other six people were only willing to spend, on average, around 130 000 dollars.

If there were plenty people willing to spend up to $500k for the bikes, why didn't the other bikes go for more?

Its a good cause so good for Armstrong and the purchasers - the inflated prices won't change my opinion about the bikes though.  Wink
