All true about not worrying about what it looks like, and that what is important is that it should work well - but personally, not that crazy about the new look - particularly the rear mech...

 

It's almost as if they want it to look similar to the XTR, whilst still making it clear that it's not... Preferred the previous look because it was as if the XT was just that, XT - whilst XTR was XTR - with seperate indentities and the like...

 

THat being said, the rest of it looks pretty sweet... But if specials start popping up on the current XT mechs, as the new line comes in - I might just pick up one or two of the old ones...

What exactly is a "very,very low price"??

 

By the way - any speculation on how much longer Shimano will keep on producing the more high-end v-brakes?

???! hort memoery perhaps.

 

M760 and M960 rear deraileurs looked very similar except for colour.

 

M970 and M770 have similar cosmetic differences..

 

XT has alays been the lower priced XTR and looked the part.
