I've bought and sold quite a bit of stuff without any problems and saved myself a fair amount of money in the process.

Ive dealt with many different hubbers and bought/sold many items. Never had anything but good deals. I have saved so much money on purchases, and made back so much money on items that would previously be very difficult to sell otherwise.

I prefer dealing face to face, makes it easier to clarify on an items condition, also allows for a bit of haggling, even some bartering. It is nice to have a chat, talk about bikes, cycling and riding bicycles to like minded people :P

As mentioned above, if someone is willing to give you their work/home contact details then they are almost certainly honest.

I've bought a number of things on the hub, some from close and some from far away but everything has always gone well.

Hubbers are cool!!!

Note to self, stop buying so much stuff and start selling.

Lemme see, in the last year or so I bought the following on the hub:

  1. 1x 94.7 entry

  2. 2x entry level road bicycles (bought one, facilitated with the other)

  3. 1x Reba Race Shock (bought this 'blind' after a few PMs and measurements were exchanged)

  4. 1x Juicy 7 brake set

  5. 1x Road front shock

  6. 1x Garmin ForeRunner 405 (seller shipped on good faith)

  7. 1x MTB fd & MTB chainring

  8. 1x Thule bike rack

All in all, I've spent just over R13,000 Ouch *OUCH* on the hub (cash and x-fers) and all deals where good.

between myself and LitttleBen we have Bought and sold quite a bit over the years on the hub without any issues. As he mentioned already our rule is you do not spend the money till the buyer is 100% happy no exceptions!

Bought from King Cycles on the Hub as well as a Delphi HRM from Joey100 after Kieran pointed me in his direction.

Both deals went sweetly. Nice people.

Speaking of which, should I take my hubs out of my desk yet?
