Had to get my fix yesterday, so I pop in my local FPC in Sunninghill shop. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Had to get a shock pump ended up buying new Front bar new seat post, and a stem as well.

While busy paying I saw a box behind the counter with the latest  XX groupset got all excited until they told me the price

R23k without shock or R30 with the front shock.

Damn now time my wife gets her bonus

I don't think 7k for that shock is bad at all. Top of the range with hydraulic lock-out.

Phew thank heavens I am not a top of the range rider, I can get away  with riding not so top of the range equipment! LOL

But..., I see on the local newspaper front page that the recession is over.

I am sure that I would be able to cut 2-3 mins of my time on a 60km race.

Money will spend, naah I will buy Carbon wheels for the gixxer gain is 5kw on that. hehehe

The question is how much can a 23K groupset improve you as a cyclist?

And how abouth 148K for the Dogma? INSANE!

When you workhard to urn that cash and all the hype is over and the excitement and newness died down, I for one will find myself kicking myself in the rear. You can do a lot with 20k. At least a lot more than get something spunky on your mtb.

We have this obsession which overruns our logic and our common sense.

I know I know..Flame me...

I reckon the BST's will make you far happier...just remember to adjust your suspension a bit or they get a bit twitchy! Wink

Nope agree completely.  20k is a lot of money.  And I cant do without cycling, but I can do without the latest rims, groupo, etc.  Much better to pay off that itching debt, and ride my average bike.
