Sorry I missed this origonal debate. Heard lots of bad stuff about Fortuners' date=' but a lot was from Landrover salesmen.

If you read the manual it actual says that the car is top heavy and could roll if not driven properly (something along those lines)

 

That's why I stick to the Best 4x4

 

My 1988 Landcruiser S/W 300 000k's and goes perfectly. All origonal engine as well, except for service spares.

Is that an 80? If I could find a nice 80 turbo diesel I would buy it in a flash.Big%20smile

It's a 1988, FJ60, 4l petrol GX Stationwagon. A diesel would be nice. Will never sell if I don't have to.

Very nice car. Went up Africa in a mates one. He had OME suspension which totally transformed the thing. 6 guys with a trailer and it didnt skip a beat.

My one boss has got one of the first Fortuners and it has done almost 120 000 km. He drives from Kempton to Houghton everyday. He also uses it to bundu bash and on RSG 4X4 club drives. It is still on his original set of General tyres. He loves it and don't know why there is a problem with others.
