I am a "padmaker" and not a lawyer, but the road reserve is a promulgated area and belongs legally to the relevant authority. Under normal circumstances (that road runs next to Tembisa and the fences are doing duty elsewhere!!!!!!) the fence should go up to the wingwalls of the structure enabling farmers to use is as a cattle creep or implement culvert.

Although I would love to declare them illegal I doubt whether they were!!!!!!!............... but, we are digressing....... the three Mountainbikers skipping the red light I caught red handed were illegal and behaving badly!!!!!!!!

.......... and other cyclists out there....... remeber I am watching you!!!!!!!!

Well in +/- 1979 it was...

My father got a telling off from a speidtkop one sunday when me and a mate where "caught" skateboarding in stormwater drain next to the highway opposite Kleinfontein dam.

And the speidtkop was white, albeit the Vandyk park variety.

Here's a definition:

?public road? means any road, street or thoroughfare or any other place (whether a

thoroughfare or not) which is commonly used by the public or any section thereof or to

which the public or any section thereof has a right of access, and includes?

(a) the verge of any such road, street or thoroughfare;

(b) any bridge, ferry or drift traversed by any such road, street or thoroughfare; and

© any other work or object forming part of or connected with or belonging to such road,

street or thoroughfare;

So, yes - the spietkop was correct...
